When breathing felt shallow or something weighed on my heart, a fragrance I found comforting sometimes helped me shift my mood. Invisible as it is, scent can change both the place around us and the direction of our thoughts.

Our story
Fragrance can change the way we feel in a moment. Root & Rest began with the wish to offer that small opening: a deeper breath, a return to yourself.
Maker — Ogino Shizuka
What I hope to offer is a small space for returning to who you already are, rather than becoming someone else. I compose light, humidity, wood grain, steam and the passing of time into each fragrance—the air of a place and the feelings of the person within it.
Why Root & Rest
A scent can bring back a forgotten memory or gently change still air. I hope a single mist can offer a small beginning, even on difficult or busy days, for someone to breathe a little deeper and return to themselves.
